    A world-class printed matter

Martin Ib's new cookbook doesn't just make your teeth water. It's also a feast for the eyes and oozes quality throughout. With a print run of 7,000 books, it not only challenges the perception that fast food always equals junk food.

The book is a personal statement from Martin Ib and challenges the traditional way of thinking about cookbooks.

The result is a unique book where boats, recipes, paper and bindings stand out on the shelf.

When the book was still on the drawing board, a lot of time was spent thinking outside the box and coming up with different design details and effects that would make the cookbook stand out on the shelf.

About the process and the final result, Martin describes his experience as follows:

"The cookbook market is tough! That's why it was important to me that my cookbook wasn't just one of many! I was looking for a wow effect. I got that with Johnsen, as the paper and cover had to stand out from the crowd."

When the details make all the difference

The 7,000 copies are printed on thick, 150 gram Munken Print 15 paper with a 500 gram gray machine board cover.

The cover is detailed by printing on gray cardstock with soft touch lamination and glossy screen-printed UV varnish.

The book is yarn bound with orange thread without the classic spine. An open spine reveals a unique detail in the form of spine text that is formed by the 15 printed sheets when the book is thread bound.

And just like the recipes in the book, it's the right combination that creates memorable results.
