ESG

ESG = Environment, Social and Governance.

Businesses today are faced with increasing sustainability expectations from customers, suppliers and partners - as well as from legal requirements and various public authorities.

Therefore, it is crucial that each company can account for its actions and document its products' impact on the climate.

At Johnsen, we have already come a long way with the transition - and with documentation. This is where ESG comes into the picture and helps us to work in a structured and targeted way in this area.

ESG - what does it mean?

ESG stands for Environment, Social and Governance; which can be simplified to focus areas that revolve around the environment, social conditions and corporate culture.

Get insight into Johnsen's approach to the three areas below.

Environment

The many environmental and climate-related aspects such as biodiversity, CO2 emissions, waste management and recycling, etc.

From solar panels on the roof, electric car stands in the parking lot, a biodiversity garden and 100% climate-friendly electricity from offshore wind turbines to forest-friendly FSC paper and compliance with a wide range of stringent climate certifications.

E

Social

The working environment for employees at Johnsen is an area we continuously optimize. Well-being, health and well-being are inextricably linked to safety and proper conditions - both physical and mental. So we work with it on several fronts.

For example, everyone has access to health insurance and first aid courses. We've made changes that have reduced noise levels in production and phased out the use of chemicals that employees could be exposed to.

S

Governance

Corporate culture covers everything from good ethical behavior and tone of voice to compliance with various laws and regulations. As well as good business conduct. Here too, we want full transparency.

We are open about our board, management structures and decision-making processes - and have a whistleblower scheme, so that any attempts at unethical behavior, bribery, discrimination and the like can be stopped and reported.
