A wealth of possibilities

Cover and spine
Design and materials play a crucial role when you start your book production.
Have you considered whether your book should have an open or closed spine? Full or half-bound? And a cover doesn't have to be cardboard or paper - because why limit yourself to one medium.
Fabric or leather upholstery opens up a whole new world of possibilities with texture and color.

Paper
Paper is much more than just paper. Paper is fullness, texture. It is sharpness in images and clarity in colors.
Paper quality can be seen and felt. And you don't have to limit yourself to a single paper quality throughout the entire release.
The paper can change - in color, in grammage or in surface. It divides the content and makes the reader explore with renewed interest

Effects
Should we add foil and varnish, fully or partially? Should the surface be matte or glossy? Should there be cut-outs, tabs or fold-outs?
There are countless options, but they must be chosen with care.
With experience from countless book projects, we inspire how to enrich the printed matter with meaningful effects that highlight, enhance and simplify.

Frequently asked questions

Graphic imposition is done before printing. This is where you define how the print itself should be placed over the entire printing sheet. In other words, this is where you plan the area of the printing sheet, both to make the best possible use of it, but also to ensure that the printing sheet can be handled in the subsequent finishing processes. For example, if you're making a brochure or a book, it's crucial that the pages are staggered correctly so that the pages are in the right order.

There are three different ways to bind your book.
Full binding: Full binding gives you an identical cover over the entire volume.
Half binding: If you want an exclusive result, half-bound is recommended. You can choose two different types of covers for the binding; one type for the front and back cover and one type for the spine of the book.
Dutchbind: This type of volume is a combination of softcover and hardcover. It is a softcover, but is bound like a hardcover.

Hardcover is what the majority would call a "real book". As the name reveals, this refers to a book with a hard cover - that is, a thick cardboard cover with a binding. It also has a solid, stable and exclusive look.

A softcover is characterized by a soft cover, typically made of paper or cardboard. Usually it will be a bit thicker than the book's content pages. A softcover solution can be enriched with many different effects to give it a unique look. For example, embossing or partial varnish can be applied. It is important to consider the effects in relation to the rest of the book cover design.

The thickness of paper is given in grams. The gram weight shows the weight of 1 m² of the current paper quality. Letterhead is typically thin paper, which is why you see a grammage of between 80 - 110 grams. It is often said that a higher grammage contributes to a more exclusive printed matter. However, it is important that you assess or have assessed which grammage is best for your printed matter. This also depends to a large extent on what kind of finishing it needs, as this has a major impact on the type of paper to choose.
