Product Circularity

– when pressure becomes part of a circuit

Product circularity is about thinking about a product’s next life right from the moment it is designed and manufactured.

Instead of viewing a printed product as something with a beginning and an end, Cradle to Cradle Certified® focuses on how the materials can continue to hold value and be incorporated into new cycles.

In other words, we focus on, among other things, the choice of materials, product design, and opportunities for reuse.

Paper-based printed materials are inherently well-suited for inclusion in a technical cycle in which the fibers can be recycled and used to make new paper products.

That is why it is important that the materials and components we choose support this possibility. The better we can keep the materials in circulation, the longer we can make use of their value.

Cradle to Cradle Certified® also assesses whether products are designed with their next use in mind and whether there are real opportunities to keep the materials in circulation.

In other words, it’s not just a matter of whether something can be recycled in theory, but of creating better conditions for actual circulation. The goal is to reduce waste and support a more efficient use of resources.
