Material Health

– because materials matter

Material safety is about what our printed materials are made of and how these materials affect people and the environment.

Cradle to Cradle Certified® evaluates materials and chemical content with a focus on identifying and reducing substances that may be harmful to humans, animals, or the environment.

Among other things, this means that we focus on the materials and components used in our printed materials—such as paper, printing inks, and adhesives.

The materials are evaluated based on their chemical composition and potential impact, so that we can make better choices and continuously improve our product line.

At the same time, it provides a more detailed insight into the products' composition and the role of each material in the overall product.

The assessment includes, among other things, restrictions on problematic chemicals and transparency requirements regarding the composition of materials.

There is also a focus on volatile organic compounds, which can affect air quality. Transparency and documentation are therefore key elements in efforts to ensure the safety of materials.

Material Health is therefore not just about choosing materials that work well for printing. It’s about choosing materials with consideration for both people and the environment—while also creating better conditions for those materials to be incorporated into new cycles in the future.
