The "Social Responsibility" category in the Cradle to Cradle Certified® program focuses on human rights, working conditions, and responsible business practices.
More responsible printing is not just about paper, ink, energy, and recycling. It’s also about the people who are part of the value chain.
That is why the social aspects surrounding our products are also part of the certification process. This applies both to our own company and—in accordance with the certification requirements—to our efforts to ensure responsibility throughout the value chain.
Among other things, the focus is on issues such as discrimination, harassment, forced labor, child labor, workplace conditions, and employees' fundamental rights.
The goal is to promote fair and responsible practices throughout the entire value chain.
Cradle to Cradle Certified® alsorequires that efforts toward social responsibility go beyond mere good intentions.
There must be policies, systems, and processes in place that make it possible to monitor the efforts, identify problems, and work on improvements. Emphasis is also placed on transparency and documentation of these efforts.
In this way, people become just as natural a part of the assessment as materials and the environment. For us, this is an important reminder that responsible production is also about ensuring decent working conditions for the people who help create the products.
