What is digital printing?

Digital printing is a much faster process than offset printing, and at the same time, digital printing can be made in such high quality that it can be on par with offset printing. The faster process happens because the print is sent from the computer to the machine(CTP) instantly. If desired, digital printing gives you the option of including individual variables. The individual variables can be, for example, numbers, addresses and the like.

Due to the reasons above, digital printing is also cheaper than offset printing. However, the price of offset printing can vary based on the size of the print run. For small runs it is more expensive, whereas it is cheaper for larger runs. For digital printing, it is approximately cheap for small print runs with more complex jobs with single data, but also more expensive for large print runs. It is recommended that the print run size for digital printing is between 1-1,000 pieces, depending on the type of printed matter.
