To give the paper a smooth and clean surface, a thin layer of plastic is applied to the paper. The plastic (coating) can be matte, glossy or soft touch. Lamination is used, for example, for folder covers and catalog covers. It ensures that there is no smudging and that the cover stays nice and durable.
